The British Museum

Mostly due to the contributions from British collectors The British Museum was founded in 1753. In 1759 the museum opened to the public, the site of the present-day building, in Montagu House in Bloomsbury.

When you visit London the British Museum is a must see building. It is regarded as one of the world's greatest museums of human past history and culture. The British Museum holds roughly eight million books which have been gathered from all around the globe and it´s an amazing experience to walk in and see all the books that holds so much history and knowledge; collected through the ages.

A must see is the west wing which holds the magnificent Egyptian collection and the King´s library that was especially designed to hold the royal books.
